Men's Athletic Director
Tymere Zimmerman
Zimmerman obtained an undergraduate degree from Newberry College in Leisure Services and Sports Medicine. While attending the college, Zimmerman also competed as a scholarship athlete and ultimately joined the Newberry College Football Hall of Fame. Upon graduating, Zimmerman pursued a seasonal career in the American Arena Football League, a semi-professional arena football league in which he still competes and has been named MVP of several times.
Zimmerman currently works full time with the R.E.S.E.T Program of Richland School District 1. As a behavior
interventionist in the R.E.S.E.T. program, Tymere oversees a short- term therapeutic program designed to focus on behavioral interventions for students in K-5. It assists with providing family support and solutions to behaviors that are being displayed. The goal is to successfully transition students back to their home school with a plan and to decrease suspensions and the recidivism of students being recommended to the hearing officer. R.E.S.E.T uses a positive behavior
model with clear and consistent expectations to create a safe learning environment where progress on social and academic goals will occur for all of the children. Parents are required to be actively involved with the R.E.S.E.T Program because without parental support, the student will not be able to make the necessary gains throughout the program.
Zimmerman was also the Varsity Football Offensive Coordinator at Lower Richland High School. Zimmerman's passion for youth development extends into athletics as well. As the offensive coordinator for the Varsity football team, he is dedicated to teaching his players how to be well-rounded student athletes that excel on the field as well as in the
classroom. Zimmerman is now the Head Varsity Football coach at Heathwood Hall.
